About Us

Bringing Hope to Over Wyre: One Community at a Time

Hope Community Care Hub was established in honour of Dr Harold Daniel Hope Elletson and his longstanding commitment to supporting the Over Wyre community.

Based in the heart of Lancashire’s Over Wyre, Hope Community Care Hub is a community-focused organisation providing practical support, inclusive activities and wellbeing initiatives for individuals and families experiencing hardship, isolation or challenging circumstances.

Our Mission

To support, empower and assist members of the community who may be vulnerable or in need, helping to improve wellbeing, reduce isolation and ensure that nobody feels left behind.

What We Offer

Emergency and Practical Support

We provide emergency food and practical support for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances, including those affected by domestic abuse, financial hardship or housing insecurity. We also offer support and signposting to relevant local services and organisations.

Foodbank and Community Fridge

Our foodbank and community fridge help provide access to food for people               experiencing financial difficulties, while also encouraging community sharing and     reducing food waste through donated surplus food.

Community Support and Signposting

We assist individuals with accessing support relating to housing, wellbeing, clothing, furniture and financial difficulties. Through partnership working, including           collaboration with local health and social prescribing services, we help connect people with appropriate resources and support networks.

Friendship and Coffee Mornings

Our weekly community gatherings help reduce social isolation and provide opportunities for people of all ages to meet, connect and take part in activities including games, arts and crafts, book and jigsaw exchanges. These activities are supported through local partnerships, including with Wyre Borough Council.

Free School Uniform Initiative

We provide access to preloved school uniforms through termly events and ongoing community  distribution, helping support local families and reduce financial pressure.

Outreach Support

We support outreach initiatives assisting vulnerable and homeless individuals in Blackpool through the provision of food, clothing, bedding, toiletries and other        essential items.

Community Activities and Wellbeing

Additional activities include arts and crafts, bingo, table tennis, line dancing and   community  wellbeing initiatives such as Men’s Mondays, which encourages social connection and positive wellbeing through group activities and outdoor engagement.

Together, we are working towards a stronger, more connected and caring community.
